Mushihime-sama, the Cave shooter.

We have quite a bit of news items to catch up on. So without any further delay, here are the news in 2 minutes or less.
  • Hironobu Sakaguchi, on Mistwalker’s site said that they “are also working on a project for iPhone” and that it should be released soon.
  • The Japanese developer Cave has announced that it is bring its 2D arcade title Mushihime-sama to the iPhone as Mushihime-sama Gaiden: Bug Panic.
  • Buzz Erik Lightyear, an avid player of Entropia Online, has spent $330,000USD on an item sold in the game called Crystal Palace. The area will sell items in the game world as well and Lightyear will receive a cut on every sale made.
  • Fan made movie named The Hero of Time was removed New Years Day of 2010 by request of Nintendo Co. Ltd.
  • Bplus released Part 5 of their soundtrack containing tracks from Bit Boy!! The soundtrack is free, and can be downloaded from their forumsĀ http://forums.bplus.at

Gah! I love Cave’s work, but not quite enough to buy an iPhone just for Mushihime-sama Gaiden: Bug Panic. ;_;

To be honest, the idea of playing a Cave shooter (something that it’s quite hard *by itself*) on an iPhone scares me.

On the other hand, the complexities of porting something like that to a platform so different than the ones these games are usually published on really intrigues me.

If I get an iPhone(or iPod touch), I’d get it as a reason to tap the screen like a psychopath. Although I can see a lot of broken iPhones in the future. D:
