Final Fantasy XIV goes online again

  • Starting December 24, there will be a sale of selected Sega Genesis titles to be 500 Wii Points each instead of the usual 800 Wii Points. This is the first time Nintendo has lowered prices for released titles. This promotion is to end January 6, 2010. You can find the list of games here.
  • Sony has a new patent dubbed Qriocity. This is suspected to be a service that involves users having to pay for an optional subscription package that starts from fees of $4.99 monthly and $29.99 annually.
  • Hironobu Sokaguchi is planning to announce a new title that’s being worked on possibly in Spring 2010. This has been the project that has been teased from quite some time now and will be an RPG game.
  • Capcom is pushing back Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2, and the North American release of Monster Hunter Tri to Fiscal year 2010, being April 1st. This is to prevent their titles from competing with other major releases.
  • Square Enix has distributed Emails to members about Final Fantasy XIV’s application site to its open beta. For those who sign up for an Square Enix account and finish the application process, Square Enix will pick candidates for the beta. This can be found at www.finalfantasyxiv.com
